ABOUT THE FOUNDRY WORKS
When people buy from The Foundry Works they are buying from a mum with a crazy dream. I’m a huge believer in people buying from people, with the knowledge that they are buying from a family-run company they can relate to. That said we work tirelessly also provide everything you’d expect from a larger company.
The big companies only stock the most popular brands, they won’t entertain the independent dyers and businesses. The yarn community has had a huge shift from shopping with the big guys to a preference for more local yarn stores and smaller businesses, and we want to accommodate that!
1. WHERE IT STARTED...
After a trip to a local yarn event, I set myself a simple challenge: learn how to knit socks.
2. HOW I FOUND THE PASSION...
It was when I was learning to knit socks that I discovered hand dyed yarn and loved it. Soon after, I decided to have a go at dyeing my own yarn.
3. MY HOBBY BECAME MY JOB!…
I started attending yarn shows and dying yarn officially became my job, my passion and my skill.
4. A CRAZY IDEA…
A crazy idea came to me, a yarn shop. I wanted to support small independent businesses. The dyers, the designers, the kit makers, and everyone in between.

The Foundry Works shop will be updated once per month. Dates will be announced via our Instagram and Facebook pages. If we’re exhibiting at a show listings will be deactivated during the show period and updated after the event.
Only use superwash yarn. This yarn has been treated to withstand gentle machine washing. However, hand washing is recommended for best results. Colour run during the first wash can occur with certain colours, and is totally normal.
